NOTICE 2021 ANGLERS'! We've Missed You!

We are happy to announce how we plan to approach the 2021 season. All of the changes for this season, needless to say, are "due to the pandemic" and with the health and safety of our members in mind. Please be aware, the firehouse is not available for the foreseeable 2021 season nor do we believe that having monthly in-person meetings is in everyone's best interest. We are going to hold three Fish-Off tournaments for the 2021 season. Plus an outdoor Labor Day picnic for members!

Events are open to members in good standing of the Fortescue Anglers. All fish weighed in for these events must be caught Hook and Line within the waters of the Delaware Bay. The official weigh-in station for the Fortescue Anglers is Higbee’s Marina. Other weigh-in stations require written verification of weight and species from an approved and certified scale by the State of New Jersey at an established bait and tackle shop. Verification should be dated and signed by the weigh master and presented to Higbee’s Marina for entry in the official log book. Fish may be caught from land, head boat or private vessel. It is not a requirement that all fishermen on a private vessel must be members. On the honor system, only fish caught by a member can be weighed-in and must be weighed-in by the member that caught the fish.

Winners are determined by the official weight in each eligible fish categories as recorded by Higbee’s Marina. Prizes for the winning fish will be awarded at the next regular monthly Anglers’ meeting or will be mailed to the winning member’s address on file should they not be present when awarded. In the event of a tie for any award, the prize values will be combined and split equally between the tying members. Multiple prizes for the same member in the same fish category during an event are restricted. Other rules and restrictions may apply. The elected officials of the Fortescue Anglers shall make the final determination to any disputes that may arise.
